OGC Procurement Policy Note- Response to Budget April 2010

OCG Procurement Policy Note- Encouraging Market Development and Forward Commitment Procurement

The OGC have released a procurement policy note in response to April's Budget that contains a number of key points on market development.

A ten point "Procurement for Growth" list is outlined: points include encouraging greater opportunities for SMEs when bidding for government and public sector contracts, engagement with the market at an early stage in procurement exercises, prompt payment using Purchase to Pay systems and the development of a new free to use e-procurement portal to give SMEs greater access to public sector contracts.

It also encourages market innovation by way of Forward Commitment Procurement.
